When I ask my high-achieving clients how they celebrate their wins, I am almost always met with a blank stare, slow blink, double-blink, head tilt & look up combo, or my favorite; the open mouthed eye-squint. The reality for many of us is that we don’t celebrate ourselves. We may not deem our accomplishments (see also, ourselves) worthy of celebration or acknowledgement. Maybe you were raised with such high expectations that you find it difficult to value anything less than extraordinary. Or perhaps you perceive celebration as frivolity that is inconsequential or beyond your reach. Whatever your reason - I lovingly invite you to cut it out!

Let's start small, okay? Create a micro win.

What’s a micro win, Eb?

A micro win is an extremely small victory. That’s it. No fanfare. No need to draft a budget and call in a party planner. No more work for you or anyone else. A micro win is an agreement between your DOing and your BEing selves to celebrate your ability to show up and get shit done!

Real talk. No one is following you around ringing a bell or popping a grape in your mouth everytime you click “Leave Meeting” but what if YOU did?

When you complete a project, task, chore, favor, or even cross something off your To-Do list; what are some ways you might take time to intentionally witness yourself with loving compassion, fierce grace, and joy before moving on to the next thing?
